The origins of the group lay in the United States of America, when along with his fellow Indian friends, Dr. Periasamy, founded PGP International Financial and industrial Consultants Inc., USA, an organization offering consultancy services on Management, Investments, Technology Transfer etc. Dharani Developers Pvt. Ltd. (DDPL) a division of PGP group is at the helm of innovation in the construction industry in India. Having partnered highly reputed international consultants with a view to introduce world class services in India, DDPL handled international project management the prestigious Le Royal Meridien at Chennai. In addition, DDPL has also been involved in the construction of factory complexes like Dharani Sugars and reputed educational institutions such as PGP College of Engineering and Technology, PGP Polytechnic College, PGP College of Arts and Science and PGP College of Education. The maiden construction project was initiated in 1993 at Chennai with Deluxe Apartments, and the next decade and a half has proved to be eventful and filled with several exciting projects.
